We’re Re-Opening!

We’re pleased to announce that Acocks Green Men’s Shed will be reopening for applications to join in July. At the moment we’re restricting sessions to a Wednesday as we only have a limited number of supervisors available. However, we expect to be able to run sessions at least twice as week as soon as is practically possible.

If you’d like to pay us a visit come along from 11.00 till 2.00 on a Wednesday for a chat. In the meantime, check out some of the things the supervisors have been creating during lockdown.

Our Newsletters

The current Coronavirus crisis is a challenge for many of us who enjoy our weekly meetups at the shed. Hopefully life will be back to normal soon.

In the meantime, we want to touch base with our friends and members and are producing newsletters to keep you updated with latest information.

If there’s anything you would like to see featured in a future newsletter, please let us know. Contact details are listed in the newsletter.

Get creative

It never ceases to amaze us at the shed the amount of creativity and enthusiasm our shedders bring to Acocks Green Mens Shed. Children’s toys, fancy planters, drum pedals … the list goes on.

If you have an idea you’d like to make real, pop down to Acocks Green Men’s Shed at Fox Hollies Forum any Monday or Wednesday from 12.00-3.00pm

Friendship Bench

The friendship bench that we (Acocks Green Men’s Shed) made and donated to Bells Farm Primary has been painted in readiness to be put to use in the school.
Just LOVE the colours.
Thanks go to Evie (my grand-daughter) and her friends who wielded the paintbrushes, and to the head-teacher who made this project possible.

Welcome to Acocks Green Men’s Shed

Acocks Green Men’s Shed is all about meeting like-minded people and having someone to share experiences with. We believe it’s important to have fun, share skills and knowledge and gain a sense of purpose and belonging.

We’re all about reducing isolation and feelings of loneliness, allowing men and women to deal with both mental and physical health challenges more easily while remaining independent.

WHY JOIN US?

You may have a shed of your own but perhaps you’re missing the company of others while you work.

You may have a desire to learn new skills and you’re looking for help from people who want to share their expertise.

Perhaps you have skills that you’d like to pass on to others. We are always looking for people to help our members with their projects.

You might just like the chance to get out the house, meet others and put the world to rights over a cuppa and a biscuit or two.

As a member of the Shed we would welcome your views as to the activities we could offer, how we can engage with the community and generally how the shed should operate.

The Shed is run by its members for its members. Why not get involved with this exciting community initiative?
